R&D Technician (18-Month Contract)

Company Overview

Inno Foods is a global food production facility specializing in the high-end luxury snack industry. We are seeking an experienced and motivated R&D Technician to assist the R&D Supervisor with product development, formulation, testing, and continuous product improvement.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop improvements and modifications to existing products.
• Generate innovative ideas for new products while researching ingredient availability, sourcing options, and regulatory compliance.
• Develop original product formulations and recipes based on food science principles, and conduct consumer testing to evaluate product performance and acceptance.
• Optimize product formulations using Design-Expert software to determine ideal ingredient ratios through statistical analysis.
• Continuously refine and adjust formulations through product trials and testing until the desired taste, texture, and quality standards are achieved.
• Perform various quality tests on food samples, including Brix, pH, viscosity, and moisture analysis.
• Conduct product stability testing to identify changes in flavour, aroma, appearance, and other quality attributes compared to established standards.
• Evaluate and benchmark competitor products to identify market trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop product line extensions and enhance existing food product offerings.
• Demonstrate creativity and contribute innovative ideas to food product development.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of two years of relevant experience in food service, food manufacturing, or a related R&D environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related discipline is required.
• Knowledge of inventory management, purchasing, and inventory control.
• Proven ability to develop and implement new ideas, taking projects from initial concept through to final product launch.

• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with other relevant computer software and platforms.
